WINNIPEG - Bryan Little had to watch the replay to make sure he scored the overtime winner in a 2-1 Winnipeg Jets victory against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday afternoon. Lorenzo Carter Giants Jersey .With 25 seconds left on the clock in the extra frame, Jets captain Andrew Ladd sent a long backhand shot toward Avs goalie Semyon Varlamov, which Little deflected from the front of the net for his fifth goal of the season.Honestly, I didnt think I did, Little said. But then I saw the replay, and if I did, I didnt feel it.I dont know, ask Laddy.Ladd had scored his second goal of the season, and 100th goal with the Jets franchise, at 6:35 of the first period after redirecting defenceman Zach Bogosians point shot through Varlamovs legs. His assist was the 200th of his NHL career.I saw Lits at the net so I just figured wed get some action there. You know, hope something lucky went in, Ladd said.I think at that point, you really dont want to mess around with plays up top so I thought it was the safe play and lucky it went in.Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec stopped 22 shots in regulation and overtime.Jamie McGinn scored Colorados goal on the power play with 18 seconds left in the first period. Varlamov faced 28 shots. It was Winnipegs (3-5-0) first game of the season that went to extra time while Colorado (2-4-3) has now lost three in overtime.Winnipeg outshot the Avalanche 6-2 in overtime.I thought we had a lot of good chances in the first (period), we just didnt score on those ones, Colorado head coach Patrick Roy said. Obviously, we had a few good looks also in overtime. (Gabriel Landeskog) had a chance there and then their goalie made a great save on that play. I thought it was a great game. Roy had nothing but praise for his netminder.I think Varly knows he played a really good game, Roy said. I dont think theres much to be said there. I thought we played well in front of him.Colorado defenceman Erik Johnson left the ice after being checked into the boards in the third period, but Roy said he hadnt talked to the trainer about his status. Both teams had power-play chances late in regulation. With 3:32 left in the game, Jets forward Mathieu Perreault was called for holding, giving the Avalanche their fourth power play of the game. Winnipeg then went on its third power play of the game after forward John Mitchell was called for tripping with 1:18 left. They had a shot blocked and another stopped by Varlamov. Pavelec also stopped a one-timer by defenceman Tyson Barrie. The game wrapped up the Jets five-game homestand, in which they went 2-3-0.McGinn scored his goal with 18 seconds left in the first period when he got his stick on a rebound off Barries one-timer. It was just seven seconds after Bogosian was handed a double minor for high sticking Matt Duchene.Barrie extended his point streak to four games (five assists, one goal) with the helper. Alex Tanguay also added an assist, putting him on a four-game point streak (3G, 2A).Duchene said the Avalanche played hard and had chances, but the Jets neutralized their speed and skill. We easily could have won that hockey game, Duchene said. Kind of a flukie one at the end there. I still dont know how it ended up in the net. Even their first one there, tipped by Ladd in the front.Things got heated with 4:01 left in the second period after Jets forward Dustin Byfuglien checked Barrie hard into the boards. Mitchell then came at Byfuglien, who smashed him to the ice, too.Mitchell was assessed four minutes for roughing and Byfuglien, who assisted on Littles goal, got a roughing minor.Winnipeg heads out for a four-game road trip, starting Tuesday against the New York Islanders. The Avalanche, who had a dominating 7-3 home win Friday against Vancouver, return home for a game against San Jose on Tuesday. Kareem Martin Giants Jersey . -- Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh says he isnt going to change what he does on the field. Custom New York Giants Jerseys .com) - The Vancouver Canucks hope an upcoming stretch of home games will be enough to get the club into the postseason. http://www.nygiantsfanaticshop.com/Black-Kyle-Lauletta-Giants-Jersey.html?cat=950 . A lawmaker is hoping the buzz from California Chromes run for the Triple Crown might build support for a bill that would place the U.VAL MARTELLO, Italy -- Nairo Quintana moved into the overall lead in the Giro dItalia after winning a tough and controversial 16th stage, in difficult weather conditions across the legendary Gavia and Stelvio climbs on Tuesday. Quintana, who is famed for his climbing skills, finished eight seconds ahead of Ryder Hesjedal. Pierre Rolland was third, 1:13 slower, on the 139-kilometre (86-mile) route from Ponte di Legno to Val Martello -- half of which was uphill. The 24-year-old Quintana -- one of the race favourites -- started the day 2 minutes and 40 seconds behind former leader Rigoberto Uran but beat his fellow Colombian by more than four minutes. Uran slipped to second, 1:41 behind Quintana, who showed he has recovered from a difficult opening two weeks, in which he suffered badly from a crash and also had to take antibiotics to fight a chest cold and fever. "It was raining a lot. We couldnt see any motorcycle. We all knew it was very dangerous," Quintana said. "We climbed the Stelvio together, and we all started to descend. There were four or five of us who pulled clear of the group. "I went at my rhythm. I gave everything today. I was climbing well in the end." Cadel Evans was third, 3:21 behind Quintana, and only five seconds ahead of Rolland, with other rivals also gaining time on the Australian. It was the first time both the Gavia and the Stelvio had been climbed on the same day and the stage was an exact copy of one of the legs in last years Giro, which had to be altered because of bad weather. There were fears the weather would again affect the stage this year and there was brief confusion as it was wrongly reported the route down the Stelvio had been neutralized with blizzards and rain making the technical descent even more treacherous. Some teams as well as the person responsible for the Giros official twitter acccount misinterpreted instructions to be careful on the descent, with riders slowing down at the top, wrongly understanding it to have been neutralized. Cody Latimer Jersey. "The communication was badly interpreted by some teams," race director Mauro Vegni said. "The indications only highlighted the danger of several curves in a risky part of the descent. It was never said that the race was neutralized or that they shouldnt race." Several team directors continued to insist they had been told by the race radio to tell their cyclists the descent had been neutralized. That came after the cyclists had already dealt with heavy fog and snow on the Gavia. There was a group of 10 cyclists in the break which led up up the Stelvio and although, they had a lead of over two minutes, that started to come down on the climb. Dario Cataldo attacked 2km (1.2 mile) from the summit and went on to claim the Cima Coppi prize, awarded to the cyclist who crosses the highest point of the race first. He sped down the descent, as confusion appeared to reign in the peloton, with some cyclists sitting up and taking time to put on warmer clothing. Quintana went clear of Uran, and his chasing group was 1:20 behind Cataldo as the latter started the final climb up Val Martello, with the maglia rosa group more than two minutes further back. The Colombian and Rolland attacked with 18km (11 miles) remaining and caught Cataldo shortly afterward. Hesjedal caught up with the leading trio and Cataldo was then dropped as the leaders upped their pace. They continued to distance the overall leaders and Quintana accelerated with 7.5km (4.6 miles) to go, as the gradient ramped up to 14%. Rolland and Hesjedal managed to stay with Quintana, but had no response when the Movistar rider upped the pace yet again on an equally steep part just inside the final kilometre.
